Job Description :
- Permanent position for a Mechanical Engineering Manager for cosmetics packaging design and manufacturing.
- Supervise the engineering team.
- Act as the major technical liaison between all factories and external suppliers.
- Assess the risk level of new projects, and provide recommendations to the sales team and to management.
- Validate development briefs sent to factories and other external suppliers.
- Strengthen the company's technical image in the US market.
- Manage the engineering department and define the priorities with the team.
- Understand and analyze a project with customer or with sales representative as an intermediate.
- Check the feasibility of new projects.
- Recommend which plant to work with for these new projects.
- Validate the briefs sent for quotation requests.
- Analyze with the engineer and sales representative the quotations that enable the production of the project.
- Supervise all steps of the development of the project, using all techniques of production with the best manufacturing cost.
- Make regular visits to the plants where products are manufactured and supervise development of new projects.
- Help the company to identify and approve new suppliers for products not made by company factories.
- Meet technical key personnel at customers to present company know how and help establish the company technical image.
Required Qualifications :
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with plastic and metal product development.
- Experience with cosmetic packaging is a plus.
- Knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, metal forming and Zamac techniques.
- Knowledge of polymer, plastic material metallization, decoration techniques and assembly.
- Proficient in 2 and 3 D drawing programs using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work as a team with all departments in factories and with outside suppliers.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
