Job Description :

  • Contract to direct position for a Quality Engineer to support program quality initiatives and monitor quality performance for supply chain, internal development and production to ensure effective process control are employed.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities, support continuous improvement initiatives, and present results to customer and senior management.

  • Assist in supporting company goals for program quality and delivery targets.

  • Develop procedures from various industry and aerospace specifications.

  • Investigate, assess, and resolve production problems in a team environment.

  • Represent Quality for Programs and Customers.

  • Review drawings and best practices.

  • Review, approve and coordinate completion of component First Article Inspections (FAIs).

  • Prepare and review acceptance data packages.

  • Support customer and internal audits.

  • Support customer inquiries, including requests for warranty support, and lead corrective action activities.

  • Work internally and externally to develop risk analysis and mitigation plans.

  • Promote the use of quality tools, including SPC, PFMEA, and MSA to reduce variability.

  • Actively participate in cost reduction programs and initiatives related to scrap, rework and repair activities.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal personnel and suppliers to effectively execute Corrective Action Requests (inclusive of SCARs), Quality System requirements, Quality Alerts, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) implementation, change control and root cause analysis.

  • Maintain and continue to elevate relationships with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service and all other facets of the company.

  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements.

  • Ensure that work area and work areas of direct reports are clean, secure, and well maintained.

  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

Required Qualifications :

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field of study.

  • Minimum 4 years experience in quality-related function.

  • Experience in data analysis and procedure writing.

  • Ability to interpret military aircraft, commercial aircraft and aerospace level specifications and standards.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO/TS16949.

  • Knowledge of Special Processes, including critical finishes, chemical conversion, soldering, crimping, non-destructive and destructive analysis methods.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, vendors, suppliers, and customers, etc.

  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance, therefore you must be able to obtain or maintain a security clearance.
